INFORMATION

How our houses made of solid timber logs are built?
We supply houses made of rectangular cross-section logs with the following thicknesses: 28, 34, 45, 72, 92, 115, 150, 220 mm or timber houses made of round logs, which diameters vary from 18 to 48 cm.

How warm are our houses?
The houses built of 220 mm logs do not require any additional thermal insulation. The houses built of 72 and 92 mm thick logs do require some additional thermal insulation. In most cases l00 mm thick insulation layer is applied. On request we can increase the thickness to achieve such insulation parameters as are required by individual customers. Here below you will find some examples of K coefficients for the majority of walls we build:

Coefficients:
K=0.45 W/m2K for 220 mm logs without thermal insulation
K=0.32 W/m2K for 72 mm logs with thermal insulation l00 mm
K=0.29 W/m2K for 92 mm logs with thermal insulation l00 mm

The 28, 34, 45 mm thick logs are used for garden sheds and small log cabins which need not to comply with relevant standards pertaining to dwelling - houses.

In majority - of houses the outside walls, the inside carrying walls and partitions are made of uniform thickness logs. In the case of houses made of 220 mm thick logs only outside walls are that thick whereas the other walls can be 92 or 72 mm thick. The material used is pine or spruce timber dried mechanically down to 14 - 18 % humidity - and then impregnated by dipping in a water solution of boron salts.

Very important remark!
Timber is a natural product featuring irregular structure. It maintains certain constant average humidity depending on the ambient conditions, therefore, during natural and/or mechanical drying some cracks and scratches can occur in a pretty natural way; this must be accepted.

Design:
The architectural design is not included in our standard offer along with the building elements because it has to be every time adjusted for individual customers' needs. Original architectural documentation made for the catalogue houses can constitute a base for preparation of building documentation to satisfy our customers' specific needs.
